These rigid metal cargo barriers where built to customer-supplied engineering specifications, each with individual characteristics to fit four different models of cargo carrying aircraft. After handling the forming, bending, shearing, machining and water-jet cutting, we also performed the finishing processes and F.A.I./in-process inspections. The cargo barriers featured a honeycomb sandwich panel and a fuselage attachment method that allows the panels to be thinner and lighter. Because these aluminum, stainless steel and high-alloy steel barriers are rigid, they offer several benefits that cargo net barriers do not. For example, the rigid barriers allow couriers and supernumeraries to sit in front of the barrier, which also acts as a smoke penetration barrier.
